About Me

Hello! My name is Kaitlin Gleason and I am a Death Doula. I decided to get into death work after seeing both my dad and my sister die in extreme pain and fear, with no plan, very little support, and no ability to be present or mindful during their final days.

I believe there is an alternative. My hope is to start a movement where we can all face our deaths with curiosity, mindfulness, and presence. I believe everyone should die with as much support, information, compassion, love, dignity and empowerment as possible.

In Buddhism, there is the idea of the Four Noble Truths. These truths assert that, while of course pain is inevitable, there is a path to mitigate the suffering caused by our own attachments and resistance to pain. I believe death is the wisest teacher, the most powerful portal to higher worlds, the ultimate opportunity for those dying and those around the dying to learn to reduce suffering and reach a state of peace. It is my honor to help those transitioning through these portals to do so.

I completed my death doula training with the Sacred Crossings Institute. I live and work in Los Angeles, California, with my dog, Bandit.
